Psalm 146
…3 Put not your trust in princes,
in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.
4 When his breath departs, he returns to the earth;
on that very day his plans perish.
5 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the Lord his God,
6 who made heaven and earth,
the sea, and all that is in them,
who keeps faith forever…
Human government and authorities can be a part of blessings from God, but they are not God. The Psalmist wrote “princes” of this world do not have salvation and when the prince dies, on that very day his plans perish.
Not so with the LORD God, who made all things in heaven, earth and sea and “who keeps faith forever.” God is trustworthy and will take care of His people. Jesus taught in Matthew 6 that our Heavenly Father knows what we need and will take care of His daughters and sons.
