Isaiah the prophet clearly taught God’s plans to create a new heavens and new earth. St. Paul wrote the Christians in Thessalonica that they should not fear the return of Jesus, “For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him.” Jesus taught with many parables, “Watch therefore, for you, know neither the day nor the hour.” (Isaiah 65:17-19; 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10 and Matthew 25:13
