“God Does Not Want Us to Miss the Call to Heaven”
Today’s sermon is on the Gospel reading, Luke 14:15-24. Over and over again God sends His message to people far and near to come to His banquet. Jesus notes that some give excuses — but there is no excuse, as if a person can come to the banquet at a time of one’s own choosing — one will either be at the banquet or not. God continues to send out the message to the streets in the city, and then when there is still not enough guests, He sends the invitations into the “highways and the hedges.” His house must be full!
Today’s service included a butterfly release afterwards. The Sunday School class watched butterflies come out of cocoons, and today the new butterflies were released. What fun!
